Edgardo hypnotized the chicken
Outside the shack, beneath the mountain,
To celebrate in laughter for
The new cement floor.
Vertical cornfields
Thirty minutes up the mountain,
Await their harvest,
Hands against the shocks.
Cloud beds hover and drift,
Spitting mist onto the mountain,
Bestowing shrugs of gratitude
To prayers, with indifference.
The mountain is eternal.
Edgardo is eternal.
The chicken is eternal.
